Your relatives can be kept informed on your state of health, unless you are opposed to it.

The hospitalized patient's charter (general principles):

       
               
     

- The clinic guarantees the quality of treatment, care and reception .
It pays particular attention to the relief of pain.

- The information given to the patient must be accessible and honest. The patient has a say in the choice of treatment .

- A medical act may only be performed with the patients free consent, after he has been well informed.

- A specific consent is needed, notably for patients taking part in a biomedical research, for the donation and use of body parts and products and for screening.

- The hospitalized patient can leave the premises at any time, except in exceptional cases covered by the law, after having been previously informed of the risks entailed.

- The hospitalized patient is treated with respect. His beliefs are taken into consideration. His calm and privacy must be protected.

- The respect of private life is guaranteed to all hospitalized patients as well as the confidentiality of all personal, medical and social information concerning them.

- The patient has access to information contained in his file notably that of a medical nature through a practitioner of his choice.

- The hospitalized patient expresses his remarks on the care and reception he has received and has the right to claim compensation for any harm he feels he has been subjected to.
